What is a Fragrance Tester?
Perfume testers are exactly the same as the original fragrance, only without the fancy retail packaging. Testers may come with or without a cap and usually come in a variety of Tester packaging, as originally produced by their manufacturer. Fragrance companies use testers for the purpose of demonstrating their products and therefore the quality of the fragrance is equal in all ways to the retail product.
All perfume and cologne testers are brand new and unused. Take advantage of the considerable savings for foregoing the fancy box.
What are Unboxed Perfumes or Colognes?
Unboxed perfumes are perfumes that originally came in Retail Packaging or a Gift Set Box, yet are now being sold unboxed because their packaging has been destroyed to the point of being useless. The unboxed perfumes, colognes or body products themselves are brand new and unused and are otherwise exactly like their retail counterparts.
What does it mean when a perfume or cologne comes in Imperfect Packaging?
Perfumes, colognes or other beauty products indicated on Cosmic-Perfume as having Imperfect Packaging are those whose packaging have become slightly dented, scuffed or worn through shipping and handling. The perfume or cologne inside is brand new and unused, yet it's respective packaging is not in it's original retail condition, although not deemed useless. Imperfect Packaging perfumes are discounted relative to their "in perfect" retail condition counterpart and the imperfection is specified on the product page.
What is the difference between Perfume, EDP & EDT?
The difference between a Perfume, an Eau de Parfum (EDP) and an Eau de Toilette (EDT) is the concentration of the fragrance oil. Perfumes have the highest concentration of oil, followed by the EDP and thereafter an EDT.
How long is the shelf-life of a fragrance?
There are no expiration dates on fragrance products, although recently manufacturers have indicated +/- 3-5 years from the date of production. Others say +/- 3 years from date of first use. Manufacturers indicate PAO (Period after Opening) on most of their products.
Over time, contact with air, exposure to sunlight and high temperatures may affect the integrity of a fragrance. To maximize the shelf life of a fragrance, it is recommended that it be kept in a cool, dry place and and away from sunlight. Always place the cap back on the bottle and use the box (if applicable) for additional protective storage.
